Southwest CPR offers both instructor training and instructor affiliation services for both independent and organizational trainers. HSI (Health & Safety Institute) Emergency Care Instructors may teach lay responder CPR & First Aid (adult or pediatric) through either the ASHI or Medic|First Aid brands. Instructors holding a valid BLS provider card may also teach BLS courses.
Our instructor training program consists of two distinct components:
1. Complete the online portion of the Emergency Care Instructor Course
This online training from HSI must be completed prior to attending the instructor course. We will have HSI send you a training link when you register for the instructor training. You must complete this online training prior to attending the instructor course.
You must purchase and receive your instructor manual prior to taking the online training. The cost for this manual is not included in the course tuition, and will be provided once we understand what type of training you intend to provide. Manuals vary in price, depending on the course selected.
2. Attend an in-person instructor course at Southwest CPR
This one-day class includes expectations, behaviors, learning styles, presentation skills, and skills practice and testing.
Once you have successfully completed course, you may create and teach classes as you wish. Price does not include training equipment, training supplies, or any instructor manuals.
Student certification cards may only be purchased through authorized training centers. Southwest CPR is an authorized HSI Training Center and can supply cards for your students as you teach. We'll be happy to share that pricing with you on request.
